He was born in Hadramout,Yemen and migrated to Makkah. He was the seventh person to accept Islam and migrated to many places for Islam, such as Abyssinia and Madinah. He was a master in horse riding, archery, sword fight and was well known to be equal to THOUSANDS OF SOILDERS.

He fought the first great fight of Islam and was the second best horse rider of Muslims, because at that time Muslims only had two horses. In the caliphate of Hazrat Umar (R.A) he was send as one of the military officer with an army of FOUR thousand for the fight of Egypt. He was a Hafiz-e-Quran and a great businessman. At the time of the first battle, he is also well known for his memorable words that he said to Prophet Muhammadﷺwhich showed his courage and love for Islam.

He was a man of great faith and he was the one who taught a lesson to one person in the caliphate of Hazrat Usman (R.A) that particular person wanted to meet those eyes who had seen Prophet Muhammadﷺand wished that he had been there when Prophet ﷺ
was alive. He told that person, “Don’t wish to be in that time because it was a hard time. You don’t know that you have been at the right side or wrong. Be thankful to Allah that you are born in a Muslim family and you are a born Muslim.” This great soldier, great companion is Hazrat Miqdad bin Amar.
