STRUGGLES WHILE USING SOCIAL MEDIA

By Adeena Adnan

Social – media is a gateway to the world of technology. It is a phase through which a person can connects himself to the known and unknown people living anywhere in the world. Every parent is struggling from a same problem, which is to convince their children to focus on their studies instead of taking selfies all the day.

There are different things that people feel and face while using social-media.

LACK OF CONFIDENCE

It is a natural phenomenon that when you don’t talk to someone face to face you start feeling shy. Even if you text that person whole day. Secondly, you lose confidence when you see people getting famous and getting more likes than you, you start feeling that you are not worth anything.

ENEMY OR FRIENDS

On social-media you can’t see a person live, only you can text them or call them but you can’t see their real intentions about you. Like people stalk each other by making fake accounts and later exploit them. They can threaten you or even strangle you to death. In this situation you don’t even know whether that person is your friend or not and in many cases, you are not confirmed about their gender.

ISOLATION FROM SOCIETY

When you are using your gadgets whole day, you get away from your real life. I don’t mean that you stop living but your interaction with your dear ones or your relatives becomes less. You are socially connected but mentally alone.

STOP BEHAVING LIKE A HUMAN

When you don’t even bat an eyelid around your surroundings and are using your phone the whole time and start thinking that this is the only way of enjoyment, you end up getting lazy, putting on weight and most important you don’t want to go anywhere like you need your phone or tablet all day long instead of going out and enjoying your life.

So to sum up, you guys may have heard about the quote which says that “All that glitters is not gold.” Same is the case here, the more you start using social-media, the more you face problems. So please put your gadgets down and use them only when necessary.
